Beginner Golf Lessons
I've set up
this website for anyone who deciding to play golf, or just
thinking of getting back into it, can be a daunting task
which takes some type of proper direction to either begin
or get back into the sport. This addictive sport can be
rewarding, but frustrating at times. Golf requires
acquired skills in order to hit a golf ball properly and
consistently. Aside from hitting the ball, some of you
might wonder which clubs should you use? Which balls do
you buy? What kind of clothing and footwear is appropriate
on the golf course? Where is the golf course and which
ones are better for beginners? How about etiquette and
terminology?
As you can see, golf is full of choices that can literally make
your head spin. Before you decide to step on the grand stage
there are lots and lots of questions that need
answering.
For those of you seeking beginner golf lessons, here are some
starting tips you should consider (Later I will go in more
detail on each point listed below):
- Don't go
and buy the most expensive clubs that are out
there!
- Consider
hitting up a golf driving range before you even think about
going near the golf course.
- Get lessons
via a qualified professional near you or get some type of
instructional books or videos that can help you grasp the
basics.
- Learn about
basic golf etiquette and
rules.
- Most
importantly take action and
PRACTICE!
What
Clubs Should I Start With?
You might say,
"What kind of clubs should I buy or start with?" The best
advice I can give you is to buy yourself a set of good quality
used clubs. If you don't have a clue where to start looking for
a set of good quality used clubs just search for Taylormade or
Callaway pre-owned clubs, you will see that they have excellent
prices and the best thing is that they come with warranty. The
resale value on good quality used clubs is very good and many
times you will break even on your investment. When going with
cheap store brand clubs, it is very likely that you will not
get your money back.
You might say,
"Why should I start with a set of good quality used clubs when
I could go and buy myself a good expensive
set?"
Well, imagine
getting to the driving range with a set worth over $1,000 only
to be shanking balls left and right. The expensive set you
bought might not even suit your style of play, which might lead
you to needing a different set to suit your style. Imagine how
much more that will cost.
So again, a
good pre-owned set will be good for now until your become more
efficient at striking the ball. Remember, consider your
options, and don’t buy something just because the pros are
using it. Eventually, every serious golfer goes for personally
fitted clubs, but that is a very expensive proposition. So
don’t rush into it just yet. Remember, experience the game
first by learning beginner golf
lessons.
